Light Medieval Shield
This lightweight and handy wooden shield was made in Germany.
- Dimensions: 63 x 50 cm, weighing 1.8 kg
- 10mm thick plywood
- Multiple leather straps for varied grip
The Heater shield is a type of shield that was used throughout the Middle Ages by both knights and soldiers.
In the 10th century, the shields were longer and could be placed on the ground. Around the 13th century, thanks to the improvement of armor, its length will decrease, making it lighter and more handy.
This reproduction is based on archaeological work and historical sources, although the materials have evolved, its method of manufacture is generally the same as at the time.
We have here a 10mm thick plywood board, which provides good resistance in combat while being lightweight.
Both sides are covered with linen canvas that can be painted with your coat of arms.
In total, 4 leather straps allow for varied grip.
With a weight of only 1.8kg, this shield is an extremely light and handy model that will ensure good mobility in combat.
