Description

The Swordmaster War Gloves represent a major evolution in the category of soft gloves for HEMA. While traditional kevlar gloves rely solely on the thickness of the textile to absorb impacts, this model incorporates unbreakable carbon rigid shells on the knuckles, back of the hand, and thumb. This targeted protection effectively blocks direct hits on the most exposed areas, while maintaining the flexibility of the textile between the shells to allow the natural flexion of the fingers.

The Dyneema® fabric that forms the base of the gloves has remarkable mechanical properties: a cut resistance 15 times greater than steel of the same weight, and excellent abrasion resistance. In practice, this means that repeated friction against metal guards and sharp contacts only very gradually wear down the textile, whereas standard kevlar shows signs of degradation after a few months of intensive use.

The palm features a silicone gel coating that enhances weapon grip during phases of maximum intensity, while the wrist benefits from a reinforced leather cuff extending protection beyond the base of the hand. The inserted fingertip protectors effectively reduce the risk of trauma during accidental thrusts or violent blade contacts.

After a break-in period of about 3 to 5 sessions, the fabric's flexibility adapts to the hand's morphology, allowing precise manipulation of the guard and smooth grip changes. These gloves excel particularly in disciplines requiring speed and technical finesse: rapier and dagger, historical saber, sidesword. They are also suitable for drilling and moderate sparring with the Longsword, although practitioners seeking maximum protection for high-velocity intensive bouts may prefer to opt for models with full shells.

I'm hesitating between two sizes, which one should I choose?

If you're in doubt, we recommend choosing the larger of the two sizes. When it comes to gloves, it's better for them to be a bit too large rather than too tight.

Return Conditions

If the product does not suit me, can I exchange it?

Absolutely. If the product you received does not suit you, you have the option to return it within 30 days of receiving your order. You can then exchange it for another size when possible, replace it with an equivalent product, or get a refund for your purchase.

The return procedure is detailed here: Return Conditions

Important information and terms of use

In the absence of a harmonized European standard specific to HEMA, this material does not benefit from the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) certification of the FIE-CE type.

The "350N" and "800N" ratings designate the fabric's puncture resistance measured in a laboratory. They do not constitute a guarantee against impacts and do not measure shock absorption, as the case may be.

The use of this equipment, particularly for the practice of HEMA, is under the sole responsibility of the user. It is recommended that the user adapt and complete their equipment according to the simulators used (steel, synthetic, wood), the intensity of their practice, and the regulatory requirements of their club or tournament.
