Indoor Montante (Swing Sword) "MBlades"

The Montante, a large Iberian sword from the 16th and 17th centuries, holds a unique place in historical martial arts. The treatises of Domingo Luis Godinho and Diogo Gomes de Figueyredo have passed down its famous reglas – those sequences of moulinets that constitute an excellent solo training. However, practicing with a 150 cm weapon in an apartment is quite a challenge.

MBlades solves this equation with this weighted simulator that concentrates the characteristics of a large sword into a reduced format. The substantial weight of 2.61 kg and the balance point at 7.4 cm from the guard faithfully reproduce the inertia and behavior of a historical Montante. The steel ring guard allows for practicing techniques where the hands slide along the handle, typical of this weapon.

The base, guard, and pommel are forged in steel, while the 3D-printed TPU grip offers a textured and durable hold. This ultra-limited series of 4 pieces represents the most imposing simulator ever produced by MBlades.
