Nilin "PRO" Gauntlets - 5 Fingers

The Nilin 5-Finger gauntlets were created with the aim of correcting the flaws of the ProGauntlet while surpassing the protection level of the Gabriel 2.0. Their exoskeleton structure, where the plates connect to each other rather than to the under-glove, eliminates any loss of grip and ensures resistance to full-intensity impacts.

  • Self-supporting exoskeleton structure: zero loss of grip
  • Superior protection compared to Gabriel 2.0, compatible with full-intensity longsword
  • Index finger fully protected by plates for saber techniques
  • Microfiber leather under-glove included
  • Available sizes: M and L only

Description

After the disappearance of CrossGuard, enthusiasts set out to design the successor that the ProGauntlet deserved. The Nilin 5-Finger is the result: a complete redesign that addresses the weaknesses of its predecessor while surpassing the Gabriel 2.0 in terms of maneuverability.

The fundamental difference with the Gabriel lies in the exoskeleton structure. On the Gabriel, the plates are directly attached to the base glove, which creates mechanical resistance during movements and limits protection to direct impacts. On the Nilin, the shells form a self-supporting unit where each element connects to the others: the hand moves freely inside without ever struggling against the structure. This design completely eliminates the loss of grip and offers superior resistance, where the fingers of the Gabriel may give way under a violent impact.

The microfiber leather coating ensures durability and abrasion resistance. The index finger benefits from continuous plate protection, allowing for full-speed single-handed saber practice.

The trade-off of this exoskeleton structure is the limitation to sizes M and L: enlarging the glove requires enlarging the plates themselves. The Gabriel, with its plates attached to a base glove, offers more flexibility in sizing. Practitioners with atypical hands may encounter fitting difficulties with the Nilin, particularly at the pinky finger.

Important information and terms of use

In the absence of a harmonized European standard specific to HEMA, this material does not benefit from the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) certification of the FIE-CE type.

The "350N" and "800N" ratings designate the fabric's puncture resistance measured in a laboratory. They do not constitute a guarantee against impacts and do not measure shock absorption, as the case may be.

The use of this equipment, particularly for the practice of HEMA, is under the sole responsibility of the user. It is recommended that the user adapt and complete their equipment according to the simulators used (steel, synthetic, wood), the intensity of their practice, and the regulatory requirements of their club or tournament.
