Nilin "HOOF" Gauntlets - 3 Fingers

The Nilin Hoof gauntlets feature a "hoof" configuration (1-2-2) that groups the fingers into functional pairs. Positioned between the 5-finger Gabriel type gauntlets and full mittens, they offer maximum protection with more mobility than a traditional mitten, all without loss of grip thanks to the exoskeleton structure.

  • 1-2-2 Configuration: index-middle and ring-pinky grouped
  • Superior protection compared to Gabriel 2.0 and 5-finger gauntlets
  • More mobile than a classic mitten (4 fingers grouped)
  • Exoskeleton structure: zero loss of grip
  • Microfiber leather under-glove included
  • One size fits all

Description

The Hoof model is designed for practitioners who prioritize maximum protection without completely sacrificing finger articulation. The 1-2-2 configuration groups the fingers into functional pairs: the index and middle fingers together for directional control of the weapon, and the ring and little fingers for grip stabilization.

This configuration places the Hoof in an intermediate category between independent finger gauntlets (Gabriel, Nilin 5-Finger) and full mittens. Compared to the Gabriel 2.0, the gain in protection is significant: grouping the fingers distributes impacts over a larger surface area, and the exoskeleton structure absorbs blows that the attached plates of the Gabriel cannot withstand. Compared to mittens where all four fingers are joined, the Hoof retains articulation allowing for grip adjustment during combat.

The microfiber leather coating ensures durability and longevity. Saber practitioners will particularly appreciate the freedom of movement for techniques requiring quick wrist rotations, while benefiting from a level of security unattainable with 5-finger gauntlets.

For longsword practitioners seeking uncompromising safety or saber practitioners looking to exceed the protection level of the Gabriel, the Hoof represents a perfectly calibrated alternative.

Important information and terms of use

In the absence of a harmonized European standard specific to HEMA, this material does not benefit from the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) certification of the FIE-CE type.

The "350N" and "800N" ratings designate the fabric's puncture resistance measured in a laboratory. They do not constitute a guarantee against impacts and do not measure shock absorption, as the case may be.

The use of this equipment, particularly for the practice of HEMA, is under the sole responsibility of the user. It is recommended that the user adapt and complete their equipment according to the simulators used (steel, synthetic, wood), the intensity of their practice, and the regulatory requirements of their club or tournament.
