Dive into history with the Longsword (model No 11) from Regenyei Armory, a majestic replica designed to revive the art and science of ancient weapon masters. This longsword weighs 1450 g (±20 g), offering a delicate balance between maneuverability and impact strength.
It has a total length of 130 cm, of which 98 cm are dedicated to the blade, from the guard to the tip, providing an impressive range. With a blade width of 37 mm at the cross, and a base thickness of the blade of 6 mm, this sword is robust while remaining agile.
Made from 51CrV4 spring steel, known for its durability and resilience, the blade and guard are designed to stand the test of time, with a hardness ranging from 49 to 51 HRC.
The blade is embellished by a 35 cm fuller that adds to the rigidity while reducing the weight. The straight 'I' type guard of 24 cm, precisely polished, provides additional protection for the hand.
The handle, with a total length of 31 cm including the pommel, features an oval shape for a comfortable and secure grip. The black spiral leather cover adds a touch of elegance and ensures better grip. The pear-shaped pommel completes this piece with style and ensures an excellent grip.
With a balance point approximately 8.5 cm from the guard, the Longsword offers a smooth and precise handling experience, ideal for practicing Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) with an authentic feeling.
NB: Unlike Regenyei's federschwert, the tip is not folded to offer a more realistic combat experience, be sure to secure the tip of the sword when using it in sparring with a rubber blunt or a piece of leather for example.
