Meyer 1570 Federschwert Double Ring Guard

The Meyer 1570 Federschwert "Double Ring Guard" carries over the blade and fittings of the standard model, adding a ring on each side of the cross. These rings wrap around the hand and provide extra lateral protection during close binds and work at the guard. Their mass, concentrated near the cross, brings the point of balance back to about 3 cm from the guard: despite a slightly higher total weight, the sword feels livelier in hand than its mass suggests. The medium-flex steel blade, its rolled tip, its wooden grip wrapped in black cord and its peened, non-removable pommel all retain the proven features of the standard model.
