Description
The Hungarian shield originates from 15th-century fencing treatises, notably the famous Gladiatoria manuscript, which illustrates its use both defensively and offensively in medieval combat. This modern reproduction by MAC ARMOUR offers HEMA practitioners an authentic and secure training tool.
Extremely maneuverable due to its reduced size, the shield effectively protects your arm and allows for both defensive and offensive use.
MAC ARMOUR had the excellent initiative to replace the traditional point with a rubber version, thus maintaining the shape and appearance of historical models while providing a significant safety gain when the shield is used to deliver strikes.
Made from 5mm thick high-density plastic, this shield offers exceptional impact resistance. It can easily withstand steel sword blows, making it an ideal choice for intensive sparring and competitions.
Its hybrid handle, combining wood and aluminum, ensures an excellent grip while maintaining the shield's lightness. Weighing only 645g, it allows for extended training sessions without excessive fatigue.
The smooth surface of the shield can be customized with acrylic paint, allowing each practitioner to add their own coat of arms or historical motifs.
This shield is particularly appreciated by instructors who use it as a mobile target to work on strike precision with their students while remaining protected from blows.
