Purpleheart Poleaxe

The Poleaxe, also known as the "Hache de pas," is a pole weapon that developed in the 15th century. Used on the battlefield by soldiers or knights on foot, it was remarkably effective against an armored opponent, which also made it very popular during tournaments between knights.

The rubber pieces manufactured by Purpleheart were among the first to allow the creation of a poleaxe simulator, both realistic in handling and also safe for combat.

The shape of the spear tip is described as "laurel leaf" and was produced using a softer rubber to bend upon impact.

The rounded ball at its end also helps distribute the shock over a larger surface area.

Thanks to its full molded rubber construction, the head of the poleaxe maintains the weight and volume of a real weapon while offering relative safety to practitioners.

The wheel is positioned under the cross of the poleaxe at about 40-50cm.

This 10 cm diameter disc helps protect your hands from blows that slide along the shaft.

The rubber tip secures the butt, which is also used in combat.

The ash wood handle is custom-made in France.

With a diameter of 30 mm, it is particularly pleasant to hold and perfectly smooth.

The ends taper to facilitate the attachment of the rubber pieces.
