Description
HEMA Deck is a project born from the passion of a young practitioner and competitor in Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA), supported by the community on Kickstarter. This deck of 55 cards in the French poker format (63 × 88 mm) showcases the fundamentals of four disciplines: longsword (Hearts), rapier (Spades), saber (Diamonds), and sword & buckler (Clubs). The illustrations, faithful to the aesthetics of historical treatises by Paulus Hector Mair, blend period elements with contemporary creations.
Each card depicts a specific guard, technique, or type of weapon. The accompanying 48-page booklet (88 × 115 mm) details the positions presented. The set is presented in a two-piece box (95 × 130 mm) with selective UV varnish finish, giving the product a polished and collectible appearance.
Beyond its educational utility for beginners and instructors, the HEMA Deck is a charming item that makes an excellent gift or tournament prize. It's a playful way to introduce the curious to historical martial arts while maintaining the friendly spirit of the community.
