Description
Most mask overlays are bulky and warm due to a lack of ventilation. MAC Armour takes a different approach with this articulated protection. It exclusively targets the back of the head area, thus addressing the main weakness of the fencing masks we use. Essential for tournament safety, especially for backhand strikes or grappling situations. It's the ideal option for keeping head protection lightweight without sacrificing safety.
From a technical standpoint, it is made of 3mm high-strength plastic, sufficient to disperse the energy of a Feder strike or synthetic simulator. The segmentation of the plates allows the protection to slide and adapt when you raise your head, thus avoiding bumping against the collar of the jacket or the gorget. Its strong point is its integration: it slides directly under the mask's elastic strap for a discreet hold that does not hinder movement.
The plastic comes with a standard curvature. For a perfect fit that doesn't "jump" during combat, I highly recommend slightly heating it (using a heat gun or hot water) to mold it exactly to the back shape of your mask.

The "350N" and "800N" ratings designate the fabric's puncture resistance measured in a laboratory. They do not constitute a guarantee against impacts and do not measure shock absorption, as the case may be.
