Bosses

The centerpiece of historical round shields, the steel umbo is much more than a simple ornament. This robust dome protects the bearer's hand while reinforcing the shield's structure. Our umbos combine lightness and strength, perfect for HEMA practice or historical reenactment. Whether creating a Viking, Celtic, or Norman shield, these steel pieces adapt to various constructions, both wood and metal.

Their carefully calibrated thickness offers optimal protection without compromising maneuverability. Supplied with rivets, our umbos allow you to shape an authentic shield, combining historical accuracy and martial effectiveness for your HEMA fights.
