The Cobra 1600N from Wukusi rethinks the architecture of the HEMA fencing mask by integrating, from the design stage, what is usually added afterward: a rigid external shell and an enveloping rear piece. Instead of pairing a traditional mask with an independent mask overlay, Wukusi constructs the whole as a single cohesive unit — the polypropylene shell covers the top and temples, while the rear piece supports the occipital area, often left exposed in standard configurations.

This approach significantly changes the training experience. There is no longer an accessory to attach, adjust, or tighten separately before saluting: the mask is worn as a single unit, with a structural feel that many practitioners describe as particularly solid in use.

The steel grille maintains good visibility according to feedback received, and the interior space, lined with modular padding, can be refined by removing or replacing certain foams to adjust the volume to each individual's morphology — an adjustment that replaces the traditional "shaping" of the mask, as the rigid shell does not deform like a textile mask.

In terms of compliance, the bib meets Level 2 of the EN 13567 standard (1600N puncture resistance) and carries the CE marking according to EN 13277-2:2000; the rear closure uses the FIE three-strap system introduced in 2018 — enough to cover the most common bib requirements in clubs and tournaments, subject to checking the specific regulations of each event.

Denser than a standard mask (around 2 kg depending on the size), the Cobra 1600N is aimed at practitioners who train regularly with steel simulators and seek an integrated head configuration rather than a mask + overlay setup to assemble themselves. The trade-off is in the weight and an adjustment that requires serious consideration: it's best to measure your head circumference according to the manufacturer's method, or even try a club or retailer's mask before ordering.
