The FIE 1600N fencing mask FAITS D'ARMES is the top-of-the-line mask in our catalog for Historical European Martial Arts. FIE approved and certified at the highest level of the EN 13567 standard, it is designed for the most demanding competitors and practitioners, from steel longsword to federschwert. Present in our range for about fifteen years, its version 4 introduces an entirely redesigned grille.

A Redesigned Dome to Deflect Blows:

No more pointed top from previous versions: the grille adopts a round and sloping contour, without a high point. This shape deflects blows. The tip and edge slide over the grille instead of getting stuck, and the effort is distributed over the entire mesh rather than being concentrated in a single point. The more open dome also significantly expands the field of vision, a decisive advantage in tournaments for reading attacks and anticipating the opponent's movements.

Design and Materials:

The grille is made from a single piece of stainless steel, with no assembly that might shift over time. The central band has been completely redesigned: thicker and with a rounded section, it replaces the old flat band and protects the edges of the grille and welding points from deformation. The mask retains its geometry longer, even when subjected to intense training and full seasons of competition. The bib and fabric comply with the 1600N level of the EN 13567 standard, the level required by the FIE and most HEMA tournaments.

Comfort and Fit:

The inner padding is detachable and machine washable, ensuring a clean mask session after session. A replacement lining is available separately. The fastening combines an adjustable metal tab and a double Velcro band: the mask stays perfectly in place during quick movements, changes in direction, and fights. The sizes and weight are identical to those of the previous version.
