The Heater shield is a type of shield that was used throughout the Middle Ages by both knights and soldiers.

In the 10th century, the shields were longer and could be placed on the ground. Around the 13th century, thanks to the improvement of armor, its length will decrease, making it lighter and more handy.

This reproduction is based on archaeological work and historical sources, although the materials have evolved, its method of manufacture is generally the same as at the time.

Here we have a 5mm thick plywood board, which has been curved to obtain this domed shape and facilitate the deflection of blows.

The structure is reinforced by transverse cleats and a jute strap on the edges consolidates the structure.

Each side of the shield is covered with linen that can be painted with your coat of arms.

At the back, leather straps allow you to adjust the support around the arm and are wide enough to allow you to wear a gauntlet behind your shield.

A padding cushion is provided between the arm and the shield to minimize impacts and improve comfort in combat.
